otra semana en chichen-itza!

Hello family!
Pues.... fue una semana loca!!!
It started off with a lesson we went to go contact a referral somebody had given us and we talked to them for a bit, sang a hymn and said a prayer and the mom said Can I do you one of our prayers now?? and we were like sure! To respect her religion as well and she came and put her hand on my head and my shoulder and whispering a stange language and well I didnt really know what to do haha it was a bit strange.

We had cambios, and Hermana bailey is my companion!!! She is super awesome. She has about a year in the mission and she is from the same place as Hermana Price! (westpoint, utah). The first couple days was a bit weird being in charge of the area but we have found our way around and have had a lot of good things happening in the week.

We found a little old man named Jesus, he is really nice, we hope we can get him to come to church! He is really interested but his wife is kind of grumpy, so we will try to open her heart as well.

On thursdays, we started a family history hour! We invite our investigators and recent converts to come to the stake center and do family history with us, well this week it rained a bunch :( so just Mauro came towards the end and we made is account. The stake center is about a 20 minute walk from our house, sometimes we walk and sometimes we take a moto-taxi! There are a bunch in our area! Its a little moto with a little seat attached to the back and it is all covered and they sure do come in handy!
A member gave me a super old book of mormon! It is full of mysteries.

So a couple weeks ago, Hna. Martinez and I bought bread from a little bread stand on the corner and we talked to the girl who was selling bread and she agreed to give us her address so that we could go and visit her. we went to go find her house, we saw a girl sitting by the door and we asked her if her house number was 558 and she said No, its the one on the corner with 2 stories, Ok thanks we said. There was definitely not a house on the corner with 2 stories!! We came back to that house and asked for the name of the girl who sold bread that we had met, we asked if they knew her, and there was a little boy who yelled I do!!!!! So she came out, they let us in and we had an awesome lesson with them. We sang Where can I turn for peace? and at the end the mom and her daughters were all in tears, they accepted baptism and the spirit was really strong. The spirit does all the work here, we are just instruments to bring it to the people. And the little kids help too, because they always tell the truth!!! haha even when the sister didnt want to tell us that they lived there. But it turned out awesome.
People really dont know what they are missing when they choose not to hear the gospel.

Our investigator Mauro was baptized!!!!!!!!!!! He is super awesome. My favorite part is that when he came up out of the water he had a huge smile on his face!!!!! Yesterday we were worried because church started and he hadnt gotten there yet!!!! (Converts are always confirmed during sacrament meeting, never right after the baptism.) The bishop saw that he didnt come so they started the sacrament, still no Mauro! After the sacrament he came through the doors and Hna. Bailey and I breathed again. He had to work that day(at a grocery store around the corner), but left for a little bit to come get confirmed.

Well, I am still learning lots everyday. I know that the message I am sharing is true and it mends broken hearts and strengthens weary souls.
Love you all tons!!! Thanks for the emails and the prayers and everything. It is helping me endure to the end.
Have a wonderful week!!!!!!!
Hermana Stacie Fleischer
