Happy Birthday Mission!

Buenas Tardes!
This week was so great and so happy.
Hmn Price
To start off the week we had a conference with a few zones and the mission president in our stake center. We talked a lot about the temple, eternal families, and self-sufficiency ( is that how you say it in english?). Then at the end of the meeting we watched the movie Conozca a los Mormones!!!!! (Meet the mormons) It was so good! I laughed and cried. It is going to start playing in the movie theaters here this weekend.

Mission President and wife

We found some great people to teach this week and on Sunday we had 4 investigators come to church!!!!!! Hooray! It was so great because in this ward we weren't having too much success but this Sunday was great!!!! One of these people was Rosy, a cute little mom we are teaching who is so ready and so awesome but had some challenges getting to church the last few weeks but finally made it!!!! Her husband is a member but inactive and doesn't really want to come back but he is warming up to us and the last time we visited Rosy she told us that he decided that they need to pray every morning and night and they have been doing it! Hooray!

Today is our Pday because we went to the temple today!!!! I was able to find some people in the family tree that weren't baptized so today I did the baptisms for them in the temple! It was so wonderful and the temple is so beautiful. Everything about the temple is so beautiful and perfect. I know that families can be together forever! I love family history work. In Doctrine and Convenios 128:18 it says that we need our ancestors and they need us! It is true and it is such a great work and we are really focusing on it with all the members and the people who are not members as well!
No furniture yet, so we ate on the floor
On Sunday I met the family of Oscar! A friend from Provo. It was a fun coincidence. I have actually known them for like a month but I didn't know it was his family until just a couple days ago!
Cool Roundabout
Well this week I completed ONE YEAR of being a missionary. Happy birthday to missionary me! Merida feels like home to me. I am so glad I decided to be a full time missionary. Heavenly Father works in wonderful ways. I didn't really understand what a mission really entailed or how it would be or what I would do, but I had always felt a desire to come because I could feel that it was a good thing to do. Now that I am here, I know that these things are true and that we have a Savior Jesus Christ! I would love to stay here 2 more years but it doesn't work that way.
Our new house
I love you all and I pray for you. I promise that when you trust God enough to follow what he counsels us to do, He will take really good care of us, and let us feel happiness, but a true happiness that can only come from Him, and not any other source in the world.

Have a great week!

Drug Addicts and Birthday Parties

Hello famiroo!!!!

This week definitely wasn't our best. We had a hard time finding investigators, and the few people that promised us they would come to church called us at the last minute to tell us that they couldn't make it :(

We met a few people with a lot of problems with drugs and it is sad to see how they have become a slave to them, but the best part about the gospel is that the Atonement is infinite! Which means that there is no problem or injustice that the love and sacrifice of our Savior cant heal.

Some keys for missionary work and conversion and well just about everything in life is patience. If we hold out to the very end, without giving up, we WILL be blessed and find the solution. I think that Heavenly Father tests our willingness to follow Him, even if it is hard, even if we feel like we don't have much success, but that shouldn't change our love for Him. Because even when we make mistakes over and over again or have difficulty following His counsel, that doesn't change His love for us.

The other one is prayer. If we sincerely pray, with all of our heart, everyday, we will have not just a testimony, but a CONVERSION. We can be just a cucumber forever, and once a while get wet. Or we can immerse ourselves and stay close to our Heavenly Father and He will convert us into a pickle! Once we are a pickle, well we have changed! We cant go back, and that is what our Father would like of us. We were made to be great!! We are His children, which means each and everyone of us has a little part of Him in us.

We have a neighbor, named Maria, who isnt interested in our message but likes us to come visit her, so sometimes we go over and say hi. We passed by and saw her outside and sat down to talk to her and she invited us over for that weekend to eat tamales because she was going to make some for her granddaughters birthday. We returned that Friday and when we got there it was a huge birthday party with a huge family and there was music and they were breaking a piñata and they saw us and said Come in! Come in! and gave us lots of food and cake haha, but we left really quick because it was right about 9:00.

Today our zone played volleyball after district meeting. It was pretty fun and Hermana Lee is an all-star.

I love you all! Have a wonderful week!
Don't forget to do family history this week!
