Abriendo area.. otra vez

Hello fam bam!

This week has been a bit slow, but better than the last week. They divided our area and put 2 more elders in our ward. They are really nice and awesome! One is from provo and one is from Puebla and fresh from the mtc! IT is fun and our ward is going to progress a lot faster with double force!
The area we are in right now is a part that we hadn't really worked in before so we are basically opening a new area, and normally the previous missionaries hadn't worked here much, but there is lots of work to do and lots of people to hear the gospel!

The area is a bit different, some fancier houses and more main roads with little businesses. We still walk everywhere, and once in a while take a bus, but normally just walk.
the day Edgar received the priesthood
Some good news of the week is the Edgar keeps progressing! I forgot to mention last week that he received the priesthood and yesterday he blessed the sacrament! He was really nervous but he did great. We went to the family historycenter with him (in the stake center) and put some things in family search for his family and we were able to find some info about his grandparents by searching some old handwritten records that are on that site. It was way cool.

On Saturday he went to the temple and did the baptism for his dad!!!!! He loved the temple so much and he keeps progressing. He loves the church and loves gospel and has a strong testimony.
I also had a painful experience on wednesday. We were eating lunch with a family and I went to scratch my eye and all of the sudden it started to burn!! But like really bad. I was like, what in the world got in there?
The member saw me rubbing my eye and was like oh no! Did you touch the chile and then touch your eye?
Sure enough.

I totally forgot that I had grabbed a little bit of chile habanero to put in my soup and then about 20 minutes later used the same finger to rub my eye and it hurt so bad!!!! I went to the kitchen tried to wash it out with water with little success and then the member gave me some milk to put in my eye. That calmed it down a bit and then she told hermana lee to brush her hair over my eye hahaha we were super confused but then it stopped hurting. You can bet we were laughing about it all day.

We found some really great investigators this week. One of them, Rosi, accepted a baptismal date and she said that right before we came to her house, she had been praying that God would help her know that He exists, and then we came and shared our message about Jesus Christ and the Atonement! It was super powerful and really strengthened my faith in that moment that Heavenly Father listens to His children and puts us where we need to be if we are willing to listen to Him as well.

I know that this gospel is true, and I love sharing it with others! There is nothing better than going to a complete strangers home, and testify of Christ and His gospel and feel so much love for them and help them feel the love that God has for them.

I love ya tons!
Have a great week! Dont forget to pray, read the scriptures (even if you can only squeeze in one verse every day), go to the temple, give references to the missionaries, and SMILE :)

ya cumpli once meses!!

Buenas tardes familia!

This week definitely had its ups and downs. Not a lot of success, but some other great things that have happened.

Happy Eleven Months to me!

Also it was Hermana Lees birthday on Saturday. In the morning on the way back from running we bought lots of yummy bread from the bakery by our house and then at lunch the member gave us cake :)

A highlight of this week is Edgar!!! He is progressing super well. Probably one of my favorite things about being a missionary is visitng the people I have taught after their baptism. When we saw Edgar this week he was just radiating with light! It is hard to explain but it was really incredible and I know it is the Holy Ghost.

So, when we met him, he had been separated from his wife for about a year and they were getting a divorce. Right before his baptism, he told us he had made the goal that within one year you would be sealed to his wife in the temple! We felt the spirit so strong, but we also knew it would be little by little. His wife was baptized about a month ago.
Today at church we were talking to Edgar and asked him how his week was and he told us that his wife talked to him this week and told him that she would like the get back together! Hermana Lee and I felt SO happy for him. Heavenly Father does keep him promises to His children and the gospel really makes changes and blesses families!

It is amazing how much it blesses our lives when we are close to our Heavenly Father and following Jesus Christ.

One of our investigators, Roberto, is doing pretty well but he has smoked since he was 13. We made some goals and plans to help him stop, and one thing we are going to do today is put pictures of Jesus Christ and other great things up in a part of his house that he says he always smokes in, to help remind him not to. I hope it helps. He came to a baptism this week so I think that will help him too.

Another great thing that will happen today (today is transfers) is they are going to divide our area!!!! So the ward boundaries will be the same, but they are going to put a pair of elders in our ward. We were really excited because our area was HUGE! And now we will be able to focus on a smaller part and focus on the investigators and less actives in our part.

The trouble with this was finding a place for the new elders to live! We have had an impossible time finding a house for them to live in because a lot of the houses in these parts are a little expensive for the mission budget. So for now the elders are just going to live in the park... Just kidding. They will live with other elders for a bit. But it was something that kind of stressed us out because almost every morning we woke up early to go running in different parts to find a house but we didnt find anything! But it will be ok.

Well we made lots of plans this week to be the Hermana Dream Team! I have lots of faith that we will have some success!
I love you all!!!!!
Have a wonderful day!

Bautismo de Edgar!

Edgar's baptism!
Buenas tardes mi familia bonita :)
Well like always I dont have very much time but some highlights of the week were Edgars baptism!
He has a super strong testimony and has made a lot of changes in his life! He his separated from his wife right now and they were going to get divorced, but she got baptized in a ward on the other side of the city and she came to his baptism!!! We have a lot of faith that they can work things out and get sealed in the temple in a year! It wont happen all at once but we really believe it will happen!
giving exercise in the morning a little twist
There are so many great members in this area and I love them lots! We are having a hard time finding a lot of new investigators, a lot of people here are Catholic, but REALLY catholic. In my other areas they just said they were catholic but it didnt really mean anything to them. But it has been a challenge for us but we are working really hard to find some new people.

This week we were walking down a street and we saw a couple women trying to put up a sign with a ladder but she couldnt reach so I offered to help (thank you dad, for the long limbs) and climbed up the ladder and tied the sign to the pole and then we talked to them for a bit and made an appointment to return. We went back a few days later and got to know their family and they were so adorable. They gave us arroz con leche and gave us a ride home because it was late. We are going to start teaching them and I hope it all goes well!

Love you lots!
Have a great week!

Feliz año!!!!!

años viejos
Hello fam! Dont have a lot of time but here are some highlights of the week!!!!!

Chichi Suarez. We have a little pueblito as part of our area and a few members came with us in their minivan to go find some less actives that live there, but this family lives way out in the brush and weed and the road turns into a little dirt path. It was getting dark and the van broke down!!! hahah in the middle of nowhere but it didnt take them long to fix it. It was a good experience anyway.
we ate dinner with this family on new years eve
New years! Our stake president is in our ward and invited us over for a family night and dinner, foto attached. The next day was super rough, only a couple lessons because no one is home, or they are asleep, or hungover... the holidays are the worst! (said no one ever) haha just when you are a missionary.

Edgar. If all goes well he will be baptized this week!!! Hooray! He is super excited and has made a lot of changes in his life. He lives kind of far away, but we are going to visit everyday this week and it will be worth it!
some members that came with us one night to go visit people
Roberto. We found a new investigator who is super awesome and came to church this week!!! He plays drums in a band! haha we are going to jam this week. He is a great person but made some poor choices in his life but is looking for the gospel and he really liked church. He has tattoos and longish hair so all the members could see that he was a visitor and lots of them came up to him after sacrament meeting was over and said hi to him and welcomed him and we were really happy. We forgot to tell him it was 3 hours long but he stayed for all the classes and said it passed by really fast! We are really excited and we really feel a lot of love for him.

Love you all tons!
I hope that you have made some good goals, that Heavenly Father is part of your lives.
I would invited you to go to the temple often! Find joy in serving others, and never forget to pray.
Christ lives! and loves us.

Con muchos abrazos y amor,
